Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Paidea (the "Service"), operated by Daetis OÜ ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our GDPR & Privacy notice at paidea.ai/gdpr. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Creating an account and completing registration through our identity provider (Auth0) constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and acknowledgment of our privacy practices, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

2. Description of Service

Paidea is an AI-guided learning platform. It provides interactive AI mentors, structured project studios, collaboration spaces (Co-Lab), adaptive learning features, and related educational tools. The Service is for learning and project work; it is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. The Service is offered free of charge to learners, including students in school pilot programmes. We do not require payment to create or use a learning account.

3. Eligibility and Use by Minors

The Service is intended primarily for learners, including secondary-school students. If you are under the age at which you can lawfully consent to data processing in your country (16 in Estonia and Romania under GDPR), you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By allowing a minor to register, the parent or guardian confirms that they have read these Terms and our GDPR & Privacy notice, consent to the minor's use of the Service, and accept responsibility for the minor's activity on the account. We do not knowingly collect more personal data than necessary for account creation and service delivery. We do not request national ID numbers, government identifiers, or other sensitive identity documents as part of registration.

4. Registration, Consent, and Privacy

Account creation uses secure single sign-on through Auth0. To register, you typically provide an email address and authentication credentials managed by Auth0. We do not operate a separate registration form asking for postal addresses, phone numbers, or government-issued identifiers. We do not require school name as a mandatory field; school pilot programmes may link accounts using school codes or dedicated links agreed with partner schools. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, that you agree to these Terms, and that you have read our GDPR & Privacy notice describing how we process personal data, including chat and learning data. Where GDPR requires consent (for example, for users below the applicable digital age of consent), registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, or with their verifiable consent.

5. User Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@daetis.ai if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or misuse the Service.

6. AI Mentors and Educational Disclaimer

Paidea uses artificial intelligence to provide tutoring, feedback, and project guidance. AI outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. You must verify important information independently before relying on it. AI mentors are clearly presented as AI assistants, not human professionals. The Service includes safety filters and refuses harmful or illegal content. It does not provide emergency, crisis, or therapeutic support. If you or someone else may be in danger — including thoughts of self-harm or abuse — contact local emergency services or a qualified helpline (for example, Child Helpline 116 111 in Romania) and a trusted adult such as a school counsellor.

7. Intellectual Property and Your Content

The Paidea platform, branding, software, and curated learning materials are owned by Daetis OÜ and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you create through the Service (for example, project artefacts, messages, and studio outputs), subject to the licence below. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of your projects for our own commercial exploitation.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe the rights, privacy, or safety of others
• Submit unlawful, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative content, especially content involving minors
• Attempt to bypass security, scrape the Service at scale, or interfere with its operation
• Use the Service to generate malware, phishing material, or other harmful code
• Misrepresent AI-generated output as human professional advice where that could cause harm

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Daetis OÜ is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from use of the Service or reliance on AI-generated content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer protection law.

10. Termination and Account Deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing contact@daetis.ai from the address linked to your account (or with enough information for us to verify your identity). We will delete or anonymise personal data associated with your account when deletion is confirmed, including conversations, learning profiles, studio project data, and collaboration content, except where we must retain minimal records required by law or encrypted backups for a limited period before automatic rotation. We may terminate or suspend access if you materially breach these Terms or if required for security or legal compliance.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on paidea.ai/terms and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires a different form of consent.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Estonia shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
